    • PTIN is a “Preparer Tax Identification Number.” This is a unique 8-digit identification number issued by the IRS to paid tax preparers. If you prepare even one tax return you need this. PTIN could also be used to describe a Level I Tax Preparer at a financial firm.
  2. What is an EFIN?
    • EFIN is a “Electronic Filing Identification Number.” This is a unique 6-digit identification number issued by the IRS to Electronic Return Originators (ERO’s). If you are the owner of a tax prep office or a person responsible for the final review of a tax return before it is e-filed you need this. EFIN could also be used to describe the owner or Level 2 Tax Preparer at a financial firm.
  3. What is an ERO?
    • ERO is a “Electronic Return Originator.” This is the person who holds the EFIN. They are usually responsible for the final review of tax returns before they are e-filed. ERO could also be used to describe the owner or Level 2 Tax Preparer at a financial firm.
  4. Do I need prior experience to apply?
    • No, you do not need experience to begin your career as a tax professional. Training and ongoing mentorship is provided.
  5. What is the pay?
    • ERO’s keep 100% of tax prep fees.
    • PTIN’s are compensated as followed:
      • Year 1 = 50/50,
      • Year 2 = 60/40,
      • Year 3+ = 70/30 (DOP)
      • Option to upgrade to ERO Plan after year one
  6. Can I purchase software only?
    • Yes, if you have a valid EFIN then purchase the “ERO Software Plan
  7. How long does it take to setup my company if I purchase the “ERO Software + Mentorship Plan
